I'm afraid this goes in the "infinite choice is always disappointing" bucket. There are many aspects of customisation I can see us wanting to support in snappy systems, but the icon of a piece of software is its brand. We quite specifically want to move from a world where a middle-man dresses up the app ("the distribution") to one where the upstream more directly defines the user experience. In that world, there is no room for icon themes. Can we INVALID this, please?
