I guess I am affected. I want to disable plymouth because of nvidia displaying plymouth ugly (well known issue). In /etc/default/grub I set: GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT="quiet nosplash"
but after system start it shows me: /scripts/init-bottom/plymouth: line 18: /bin/plymouth: not found The same problem had another user: https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php?69439-Is-plymouth-required I followed the topic but with no success I even # all lines in plymouth file located in: /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-premount No effects. This bug report might be related to the problem https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/1525699 In comment 6 it says: status: Fix Committed → Confirmed but I don't want plymouth. With nvidia it looks ugly and seems to slow down loading the system. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1578372 Title: /usr/share/initramfs-tools/scripts/init-bottom/plymouth doesn't check for splash/nosplash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/plymouth/+bug/1578372/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
