I have a HP Pavilion zd8000 with a ATI Mobility X600. I use the xorg-driver-fglrx package and activated the driver in the Restricted driver manager. Compiz-Fusion works fast, nearly without crashing and with almost all functions. I have no problems at all. And for sure it runs alot faster with this restricted drivers.
