Public bug reported: When printing from https://news.ycombinator.com/ from Firefox or Chrome cups-pdf mangles fonts. The output is readable but ugly. It worked OK on 12.04
This seems to be a general problem printing pages using certain fonts (TrueType?) . In case of HN the site specifies Verdana, which gets rendered using DejaVuSans/LiberationSans on stock Ubuntu. Note that both on 12.04 and 16.04 the workflow seems to involve pdf->ps->pdf roundtrip. In 16.04 it just does more damage. ** Affects: cups-pdf (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1639405 Title: cups-pdf in 16.04 mangles fonts on HN - regression from 12.04 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cups-pdf/+bug/1639405/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
