Good Afternoon!

I'm Andrés
I'm from Colombia, and a Linux Mint 17.3 (trusty) user.

I have been struggled with a basic problem: My touchpad was recognized
as a PS/2 Optical Wheel Mouse, I have an Asus K550D Laptop, and with the
bg help.

"...
sudo nano /etc/default/grub

Find the line that mentions GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX and add the flag:

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="i8042.noloop=1 psmouse.proto=bare"
..."

Thank u very much!
I can now use my touchpad without problems.

I hope this can help to others!
