OK, lets just calm down and start over: 1. I did set the driver to ati (there is a bug in the settings panel as well, the dropdown and listbox are not in sync) 2. It always reverts to failsafe and use vesa drivers. There is no other behaviour. 3. The logs are always the same. You have them.
Can you try to repeat the steps you think I take to set the drivers?
