I booted into Ubuntu with kernel 4.10.0-37 (the one I used in 17.04), and that made my mouse work. I had problems with my trackpad as well, and that was solved with the downgrade as well. Maybe the two problems are connected? See https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1729391
But strangely enough, the keyboard still acts strangely. sudo evtest, choosing keyboard, gives Testing ...
