Tested your -38 kernel for this issue from comment #67 and I can confirm it allows me to log in with SSSD and an LDAP user. Been experiencing this on a range of Dell laptops, mostly XPS 13's with Kaby Lake i7's (7560U) and a Precision M3520 with a 7820HQ. Look forward to this going into mainline!
