Same issue with ubuntu 18.04 nvidia-driver-390 (GeForce GT740M). I have these packages libglvnd and xorg-server from bionic-proposed, but it is not working. I had to purge all nvidia in order to use ubuntu sudo apt remove --purge nvidia-*.
