After upgrade to 18.04 my Asus X550LNV with NVIDIA GeForce 840M [GM108M] is only usable with the nouveau-drivers. I've tried many combos with the NVIDIA drivers but only get to login loop, frozen startup process or can switch to a terminal but in no circumstances can I get to GUI with the NVIDIA drivers installed.
