Hi James. I think it would be a great loss of time to search for a hard- to-tracedown GTK-related bug in those dialogs that serve a feature that has been long non-working, and are no longer there in the current release. I think the right action here is to backport the removal code - while huge in "footprint", those changes are mostly fairly trivial.
My general stance regarding bugs in older versions is this: Variety is an entirely non-mission-critical application, that is also heavily dependent on volatile Internet APIs. It's entirely possible that a past "stable" release gets sufficiently outdated to be non-functional, and it's usually less risky to bring it to a more current state than to apply special bugfixes to the old releases (as those can have unpredicted side effects). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1770187 Title: Versions under 0.6.8 freeze on "Would you like to register?" screen To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/variety/+bug/1770187/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
