Curtis Gedak,

Thank you for the response.

When I run
dpkg -l | grep ntfs-3g

ii libntfs-3g88 1:2017.3.23-2
amd64 read/write NTFS driver for FUSE (runtime library)
ii ntfs-3g 1:2017.3.23-2
amd64 read/write NTFS driver for FUSE

I get the following which agrees with your results.

However when I run
man mkntfs it does not show -Q as a valid option. It does show -q for quiet. My
version is
mkntfs --version
mkntfs (Jul 6 2018 17:52:56)
UFSD
Paragon Software Group

Apparently the Paragon Software has replaced the standard command. If
the Paragon Software actually worked on my system, I would use it.
However it does not work. This is probably the source of the errors in
the gParted script.
