I can add that I've also tried with the kernel 4.15.0-36.39 from Ubuntu 18.04 and the problem also reproduced. Right now I also suspect systemd/udev or userspace ALSA components because, although I can play sounds on the "default" and "sysdefault" devices, I cannot play on "D2X" or "surround51" devices:
