Ahh yes, there everything is in /dev/snd, so really starting to feel
like a pulseaudio bug.

$ ls /dev/snd
by-path    controlC1  hwC1D0    pcmC0D0p  pcmC1D3p  pcmC1D8p  timer
controlC0  hwC0D0     pcmC0D0c  pcmC0D1p  pcmC1D7p  seq


I'll try the USB boot thing this aft and get back to you.
