I can't confirm this. Admittedly I don't have Windows, so maybe that's
the problem here (I don't have a whole day to spend installing it...),
but I do have a Lubuntu EFI install, which means I have a FAT32
partition with boot and esp flags mounted to /boot/efi and another
partition. I deleted the second partition to make room for the install,
unchecked the boot flag, and moved on and there was no repeat of
anything.
