Hi Collin, It takes many careful reviews before one new package can ever make its way into Ubuntu archive, so probably it will still take a while. Before that, you may also want to try my PPA for the latest/unofficial for backport-iwlwifi-dkms at https://launchpad.net/~vicamo/+archive/ubuntu /backport-iwlwifi-dkms .
I'm closing this bug as a DKMS package is the current solution for Bionic 4.15 kernel.
