Agreed, this ignoring standards is arrogant. Not only regarding users, but also regarding application developers that distribute via snap. An application that messes with my visible folder structure gets immediately a negative reaction from me. In this case, the application / its developers don't even deserve that. If it is configuration, it belongs into ".config/snap". If it is data, it belongs into ".local/share/snap".
