I'm in the middle of a port to Python 3 at the moment, since we need that for Launchpad. However, the zope.publisher build-dependency isn't going away, and Launchpad consumes lazr.batchnavigator using virtualenv and pip rather than .debs, so we don't really mind whether it's in Ubuntu or not; this is mostly just an FYI.
