** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed => Invalid ** Description changed:
+ Please disregard. I no longer have the device in question. + I recently installed Ubuntu 19.10 on this machine and I am getting messages in dmesg like this: [drm:mipi_exec_pmic [i915]] *ERROR* Your hardware requires CONFIG_PMIC_OPREGION and it is not set I traced the message to drivers/gpu/drm/i915/display/intel_dsi_vbt.c and it is because a kernel configuration option is not set. The kernel configuration for the default kernel in 19.10 does not have this set so I am assuming this is why I am getting this error message. I think this should be enabled on kernels from now on to resolve the issue for other devices that require it. - --- + --- ProblemType: Bug ApportVersion: 2.20.11-0ubuntu8.2 Architecture: amd64 AudioDevicesInUse: - USER PID ACCESS COMMAND - /dev/snd/controlC1: test 875 F.... pulseaudio - /dev/snd/controlC0: test 875 F.... pulseaudio - /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c: test 875 F...m pulseaudio - /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: test 875 F...m pulseaudio + USER PID ACCESS COMMAND + /dev/snd/controlC1: test 875 F.... pulseaudio + /dev/snd/controlC0: test 875 F.... pulseaudio + /dev/snd/pcmC0D0c: test 875 F...m pulseaudio + /dev/snd/pcmC0D0p: test 875 F...m pulseaudio DistroRelease: Ubuntu 19.10 InstallationDate: Installed on 2020-01-05 (0 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 19.10 "Eoan Ermine" - Release amd64 (20191017) MachineType: Dell Inc.
