It's obvious for me that it's only workaround and only for home users
for which simplicity is key feature. So you have temporary solution and
choice to do it or not.

I personally have done it on my wife's notebook since it's simple
environment used by her only a home, without any sensitive data. For her
to have comfort that everything works as expected and no "strange"
messages appear is most important thing about computer usage.

So one again - yes, it's dirty workaround BUT you have choice to do it
or not.
