OK, so last night I shut down, inserted the DVD drive and then switched on again. Then I left it overnight. Was still stuck in the morning.
Then I powered off using Alt+Fn+PrtSc, s, u, o, took the drive out and powered on again. It still got stuck. But then rebooted with Alt+Fn+PrtSc, s, u, b, and it booted fine. Then powered off again, inserted drive again, turned on again. Got stuck. Took drive out. Was still stuck. Rebooted with Alt+Fn+PrtSc, s, u, b, and it booted fine (possibly after initially getting stuck again) In short: > Does the system eventually finish booting?
