@juliank This happens with the _default_ AWS Ubuntu images, so I highly doubt it's a bug in anyone's configuration (for example: ami- 05ed2c1359acd8af6 (Ubuntu 16.04) or ami-0d359437d1756caa8 (Ubuntu 18.04) in AWS region eu-central-1/Frankfurt). Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch new EC2 instances using either of these images 2. sudo apt-get update && sudo DEBIAN_FRONTEND=noninteractive apt-get -yq upgrade 3. Reboot and find yourself stuck at the grub rescue prompt. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1889509 Title: grub boot error : "symbol 'grub_calloc' not found To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/1889509/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
