It look like one problem has disappeared, I have a display resolution at 1920 x 1080 now.
I don't remember what happened going from 5.8.0-19 to 5.8.0-20, but synaptic still marks those headers as manually intalled. - linux-headers-5.9.0-20-generic - linux-image-generic So I assumed that the (re-)installation of Virtualbox went wrong, because those headers were missing and I installed those headers using synaptic. I expect, that those headers are installed by default, when installig or updating Linux. I only have Linux Mint 20 VM and I have no problems with it. But that one still runs Linux 5.4. I did not have these problems with Ubuntu Cinnamon 20.04 VM running at Linux 5.4.
