ok, sorry for the noise. There's no bug, and if Brian is ok, this can be closed :
I got this error message while following the instructions stated online on the Boinc website. When using the Debian/Ubuntu package, the processus is different : boinc should be started like another daemon : sudo /etc/init.d/boinc-client start if it isn't start already (the rpc binding error probably appear because the daemon has already taken the rpc socket) Then, all config files are in /var/lib/boinc-client, including the certificates I was stating that were missing in my previous message. So all is fine. Just some confusion with the online informations. Using the Boinc-Manager package is also a good idea to register to some projects. -- Boinc fails to start gives "GUI RPC bind failed: 98" error https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/163853 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is the bug contact for Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
