Sorry, the BTW above was nonsense. When trying to boot using `Advanced Options` in BIOS and choose Ubuntu there, the screen shows
` Loading Linux5.4.0-53-generic ... Loading initial ramdisk ` and gets stuck there. The strange comes now: if I open the bootscript for Ubuntu in BIOS removing one of the two spaces in the line `ro nomodeset quiet splash` or `ro nouveau.noaccel=1 quiet splash` (between ro and the other stuff) works fine, boots like a charm. I am really curious what is going on here :-) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1904474 Title: Black/purple screen after booting Ubuntu To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-shell/+bug/1904474/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
