Public bug reported: I am trying to install Lubuntu 20.04 on a completely virgin machine, a NUC10 (never had Windows on it). I first tried to use the installer disc editor to partition a 2TB FireCuda disc. At the end of the set up, the installer complained "A partition was configured with mount point /boot/efi but its esp flag is not set. To set the flag, go back and edit the partition". Unfortunately, going back to set the esp flag is useless as there is no facility to set this flag! Second try: kill the installer and configure the disc manually with fdisk. Then restart the installer and when we get to the disc configuration it came up with "A partition was configured ...". Either the disc configurator should have the facility to set the esp flag or, preferably, the complaining software should set the flag automatically and, possibly, issue a friendly warning.
I never got as far as being able to track down the guilty package; try "installation script"?
