Public bug reported:

Since I upgraded to Ubuntu 20.10 from 20.04, GNOME Terminal started
showing dark gray text on a black background. I can resolve this issue
by unchecking "Use colors from system theme" in Preferences > [Profile]
> Colours, and choosing a built-in scheme instead, like GNOME Dark.

I am using GNOME Terminal 3.38.0.
