So we will just let it go? Or, somebody from mainline kernel team is looking into the matter? This is ridiculous, what is the point of having a 5 year LTS which can't support the newest kernels that are necessary for newer hardware? In simple words, one cannot use Ubuntu LTS with new hardware. One needs to use the latest ubuntu OS which might be plagued with bugs and many other issues, and furthermore keep changing it every 6 months? I am dying to hear any sensible argument in favour of this.
