In that log, the only ticket that seemingly gets renewed is the
machine's user principal (host/lin-virt-pxe1.mydomain...@mydomain.dk in
this case). In the snippets I shared today, its also mentioning the
actual logged-in user's account (t...@mydomain.dk). I will share another
logdump to compare tomorrow.

From SSSD docs:

auth_provider: "Sets the authentication provider used for the domain.
The default value for this option is the value of id_provider. The
supported authentication providers are ldap, ipa, ad, krb5 (Kerberos),
proxy, and none."

So I am assuming in my case the auth_provider would default to ad as it
should.

When testing with 2.2.3, the ticket is renewed succesfully every half an
hour.
