Hi Juergh, This freezing happens just after any boot (or reboot), only once. All other windows (tasks) freezes for up to 5 seconds, even System Monitor freezes too. If I boot my desktop or notebook 5 times a day it will freeze 1 time per boot on each equipament, only the first terminal session.
You may think what a diference 5 seconds makes? But every day for years??? For me it is a bug, and if not, someone could explain me what happens. I very sure, if you use ubuntu, you can reproduce this issue. As I said it happens on Ubuntu 20.04, 20.10, 21.04, 21.10 and Pop_OS 21.04. RPI4 and Intel Core I5. Using Raspberry PI OS and Debian no issue. On RPI4 I installed "impish-preinstalled-desktop-arm64+raspi.img.xz" from ubuntu daily build for 21.10 and same way for 21.04 and 20.10. Only 20.04 I've installed server and then desktop. On RPI4 I use a USB SSD. On Dell 5558 Notebook I installed Ubuntu 20.04.2 Desktop (64-bit) ISO. installed on a Sata SSD.
