Public bug reported: The libtomcat9-java package (version 9.0.58-1) currently in jammy (https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/libtomcat9-java) depends on libeclipse-jdt-core-java (https://packages.ubuntu.com/jammy/libeclipse- jdt-core-java), and that package has been updated to upstream version 4.21 that seems to require (and be built with) Java 11: http://changelogs.ubuntu.com/changelogs/pool/universe/e/eclipse-jdt- core/eclipse-jdt-core_4.21-1/changelog.
Is this a conscious decision? Is there something that can be done to revert back to a version that supports Java 8 for the upcoming Ubuntu 22.04 LTS? ** Affects: tomcat9 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1961994 Title: Tomcat 9 in jammy requires Java 11 as runtime To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/tomcat9/+bug/1961994/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
