I just want to add something to my last comment, as it was misleading.

The adapter stopped working again. After some exploration, I discovered
that my dual-boot with Windows 10 was messing up with the accessibility
to the WiFi.

Info here:
https://wireless.wiki.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/iwlwifi
section "About dual-boot with Windows and "fast-boot" enabled"

Simply booting into Windows 10, disabling the fast-boot option, and
booting back to Ubuntu 22.04 solved the issue.
