Public bug reported:

I've created a virtual machine using the following arguments:

qemu-system-sparc -bios /opt/roms/ss5.bin -vga cg3 -hda
/var/lib/libvirt/images/ultra3.img -cdrom /opt/iso/redhat62.iso

Where /opt/roms/ss5.bin are ROMS I obtained from a website for SS-5,
/var/lib/libvirt/images/ultra3.img is a qcow2 image file 4GB, and
/opt/iso/redhat62.iso is a redhat 6.2 image I copied using cp /dev/sr0
/opt/iso/redhat62.iso.

I was able to successfully install and boot the virtual machine with
Redhat 6.2, however the network interface does not talk. Can't even
ping the interface of the physical machine it is hosted on.

virt-manager sparc is completely useless, no way to load from a CD image
and if I try to import the existing disk image I created this way, the
monitor blows up.
