For what it's worth, I tried to Cc: the Funet mirror maintainers, but apparently had the wrong address. The mirrors page https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+mirror/nic.funet.fi doesn't have a good email address, but just now, I contacted the guy who registered the mirror, as well as the Funet mirroring admins. Let's see what comes of that.
