Public bug reported:
HI,
I have an Acer Nitro v15, Ubuntu 22.04 LTS installed.
If there is no headset connected, still in Settings >> Sound "Headphones Stereo
Microphone sof-hda-dsp" is listed.
When headset is connected in the jack, this stays visible, but no audio input
is taken (also the visualization line is not "moving", while if I change to
"Digital Microphone sof-hda-dsp" it moves, visualizing as the input is catched
by the mic)
I tried with Ubuntu Live 22.04, and see the same. I also tried Ubuntu 24.04 LTS
Live USB, and also the same.
I prefer to use Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.
In the file /etc/modprobe.d/default.conf I have only a single line:
options snd_hda_intel index=1
In the file /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf I have two lines, that I tried to
use as solution, but they didn't solve the issue.
options snd-hda-intel model=dell-headset-multi
options snd-hda-intel model=alc245-mute-led
I have pipewire, alsamixer, hdajackretask, and tried various settings based on
forums, but can't find the solution.
pactl info | grep "Server Name"
Server Name: PulseAudio (on PipeWire 0.3.48)
The headset mic is working perfectly on other computers, and also on this
computer under Windows 11 (I have dual boot).
I also have an USB-C headset, and if I use that, the headset mic is working
well. It seems to me that only the jack mic driver is somehow problematic.....
Can you please help me?
