Please expand the test case a bit. It currently just says: "The upgrade should complete without errors, and the VM should reboot into plucky after the upgrade."
Suggestions: - check if libc6:i386 is still installed (and was upgraded) - confirm desktop environment is installed (obvious, but...) - since steam was mentioned, how about we test a release upgrade with steam installed? This sounds like it will address the user story from the bug description, even though libc6:i386 was deemed to be the root cause. But I suspect we need steam the deb, not steam the snap, right? And about this regression potential: "If any problems did occur from this, it would most likely be seen in the calculation step.". What would the signs for this be, can we add a check to the test plan? I suppose it would mean massive removals, or that the desktop packages would be removed, something like that. Just add a spot check to the test plan to confirm that the calculation mentioned in this regression potential seems fine. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2106202 Title: Kubuntu 24.10 do-release-upgrade and Steam (or other) dependencies installed produces not booting desktop To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-release-upgrader/+bug/2106202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
