It is not clear from the original report, but this may be result of this bug: https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/issues/8657
To check if this is indeed the problem, run this command: $ efibootmgr|grep Linux-Firmware-Updater Correct result looks like this: Boot0002* Linux-Firmware-Updater HD(1,GPT,6ccce482-e2c2-48ca-991e-608bee5d38af,0x800,0x100000)/File(\EFI\ubuntu\shimx64.efi) File(.\fwupdx64.efi) If you do not see the trailing part "File(.\fwupdx64.efi)", that is it. The bug is fixed in upstream version 2.0.8 It needs to be backported to plucky. Or, it is possible to fetch fwupd_2.0.8-3_amd64.deb and libfwupd3_2.0.8-3_amd64.deb from questing repo and install by hand. If it is confirmed, this bug should get a tag "plucky-regression", and backport requested. ** Bug watch added: github.com/fwupd/fwupd/issues #8657 https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/issues/8657 ** Also affects: fwupd via https://github.com/fwupd/fwupd/issues/8657 Importance: Unknown Status: Unknown -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2102703 Title: UEFI dbx update does not apply To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/fwupd/+bug/2102703/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
