Reply to Kevin Becker / Ubuntu Kernel Bot:

Thank you for your response.

I’d like to reiterate that, as mentioned in the original bug report, I
am no longer actively using Ubuntu on this hardware (iMac 18,3) due to
persistent driver issues.

I currently run the original operating system — macOS Ventura — where
all components (audio, microphone, graphics, webcam) function correctly.
This confirms that the hardware is fully operational and that the issues
in Ubuntu stem from software-level incompatibilities.

My intention was not to request support for a specific installation, but
rather to provide the development team with a technical analysis,
diagnostics, and suggestions that could help improve Apple hardware
support in Ubuntu.

The attached file includes output from the original BootCamp package,
containing component identifiers (Cirrus Logic CS8409 / CS42L83, AMDGPU,
internal webcam).

I’m not sure whether similarly detailed information can be extracted
directly from macOS Ventura, but if there is a way, I’m happy to provide
additional system data or hardware reports.

I have access to the physical device and the original BootCamp
documentation, and I’m willing to assist with patch testing, DKMS
validation, or UCM profile development — if there is active interest in
resolving these issues.

If testing on a newer kernel (e.g. 6.14 HWE) is truly necessary, I can
consider temporarily reinstalling Ubuntu, but only if there’s a clear
indication that someone will actively investigate the problem.

Thank you for your understanding.
