The problem reappeared after I reverted packages to Ubuntu versions and removed PPA. Currently in the error log: Sep 02 15:03:50 kodalin kernel: i915 0000:00:02.0: [drm] *ERROR* GT0: GUC: TLB invalidation response timed out for seqno 4805685 A series of timeouts in GuC during TLB invalidation: “GUC: TLB invalidation response timed out ...” followed by “GPU HANG” and chip reset “Resetting chip for stopped heartbeat on rcs0” after which i915 raises GuC/SLPC/RC again, but the session already crashes/freezes for the user (as evidenced by application errors around this time).
