I don't know about regular Ubuntu, but in Kubuntu 25.04,
NVreg_PreserveVideoMemoryAllocations is NOT set by default.  This might
be an oversight on the part of the maintainers of that variant.

I am actually not getting anything more in the journal when I use that
key combo--the keyboard doesn't have a button with the SysRq legend on
it, but it does have PrtSc, which is usually the same.  Let me know if
there's anything else we can try to get more diagnostic information out
of this system.
