ubuntu 24.04, Synology NAS

Much frustration when attempting to mount NAS using cifs (smb from file
manager and NFS are both OK)

cifs mount returns
Mount -> 'error(2): No such file or directory.
So looked in dmesg (sample below...)
[ 3448.140639] audit: type=1400 audit(1760437338.964:246): apparmor="DENIED"
operation="mknod" class="file" profile="snap.firefox.firefox"
name="/home/usernam/.local/share/fonts/.uuid.TMP-9fkBr6" pid=11249
comm=57656220436F6E74656E74 requested_mask="c" denied_mask="c" fsuid=1000
ouid=1000
[ 3702.558349] CIFS: Attempting to mount //192.168.178.51/volume1
[ 3703.184771] CIFS: VFS: cifs_mount failed w/return code = -2

Of course I check the CIFS entries and spent hours looking at
privileges, ownership, server setup, mount types etc etc, all the while
knowing NFS and file manager both worked (why I persevere with cifs is
another issue)

But of course the issue is with snap.firefox... worse still it isn't even
listed in flatseal???
So now what...
