I have the exact same problem, my main specs: - Dual Boot between Windows & Kubuntu Gutsy - AMD 64 X2 6000+ - M2N32 SLI Deluxe (Wireless Edition) - Geforce 8800 GTS 320 Mb - Soundblaster X-Fi only used in Windows due to lack of support in Gutsy. - Onboard Soundmax soundcard (AD1988 chipset) (6stack w/ SPDIF). Currently used in Linux and the source of this headache. >From what I've gathered, there are other motherboards with the AD1988 chipset, but I've only seen this specific problem reported for the M2N series. @superid: Your fix does not work for us M2N users. I can see you write "options snd-hda-intel", but you have an Intel-based PC. Do you happen to know if there's a different option for AMD users? I'm investigating that now, but so far this is the only website where this is being treated as a bug and not as an isolated issue, and I can't find a solution anywhere. @Mervin: Were you able to fix this problem?
