My desktops have Nvidia 5700LE and 5200, my notebook has a 6150go, and I followed the same procedure in all of them, didn't work in the notebook. My point is this bug, caused by a decision from a brainy boffin, shouldn't be there at all. That rare intelligence thought it would be mean to blank every (k/x/edu)ubuntu framebuffer terminal around the globe because it didn't break his workflow. As far as I can see it's a complete disregard about users other than him, and even if it was done to supposedly fix a broken suspend (it was broken to me so hard I had to reinstall my system after a failed suspend) it only demonstrates this dev doesn't know a simple engineering lesson: Fix what is broken, where it's broken, and don't mess wirth anywhere else while you're at it.
