Thanks. As the author of the optimization that likely started this
problem I believe
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/mutter/-/merge_requests/5008 actually is
the solution. It will ensure a level of lock-swap reliability at least
equal to GNOME 49 without losing the optimization introduced in GNOME
50.
