I have a couple OpenVPN connections I use for work to access internal
networks, using config files and certs produced on pfSense routers. I
have been using these VPNs successfully without any issues for a long
time, most recently on 24.04. On 24.04, they work perfectly both via
running openvpn directly on the command line or configuring them through
Network Manager.
On 26.04, openvpn will connect to these servers, the tun devices are
present and the output of 'ip route' looks exactly the same as it does
on 24.04. However, if I attempt to ssh into one of the servers on one
of the VPN networks it just sits there. If I use sudo to run the ssh
command it connects immediately. This isn't ideal though as all my ssh
keys are in my regular user account, which sudo bypasses. Also not
useful for attempting to access internal websites over these VPNs.
I've spent a couple days searching for a solution or any other reports
of this problem. Apologies if it's a configuration issue, but I'm at a
loss. I've looked through my logs and the output of journalctl
wondering if it was AppArmor, but I'm not seeing any indications that
it's the problem.
