Both the 
linux-{modules,objects}-nvidia-595-open-7.0.0-15-generic_7.0.0-15.15_amd64.deb's
 contain an nvidia-drm.ko module.
Comparing these modules with the proprietary 
linux-{modules,objects}-nvidia-595-7.0.0-15-generic_7.0.0-15.15_amd64.deb's 
made me as an experiment remove the /lib branch from the modules open deb.
The result is a working system!
Alas by amending the deb I lost its Secure Boot enablement.
Please provide a correct signature.
