A second, independent report of the same failure on a different bionic ESM host has appeared on Launchpad Answers:
https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+question/824424 Same error signature (`undefined symbol: H2_MPLX_MSG` when loading `/usr/lib/apache2/modules/mod_http2.so` from `apache2-bin 2.4.29-1ubuntu4.27+esm7`), reproduced after a routine `apt-get -y dist- upgrade` on 2026-05-28. Reinstalling the package does not help, which is expected since the defect is in the shipped binary itself. This confirms the regression is reproducible across hosts and not specific to a single environment. Could this bug be re-evaluated for priority and an `+esm8` rebuild be scheduled? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2154546 Title: apache2-bin 2.4.29-1ubuntu4.27+esm7 (bionic ESM): mod_http2.so has undefined symbol H2_MPLX_MSG - apache2 fails to start To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/2154546/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
