2) linux-firmware-mediatek 2a) d/copyright for mediatek/* It currently states: Files: mediatek/* Copyright: Unknown License: Redistributable-mediatek
It's a bit unsettling to have "Copyright: unknown" for the binary blobs, at the same time we state a license for it. Can we do better here? I see that LICENSE.mediatek is a bit vague, as it says "aforementioned firmware files" without a clear indication of which ones, and there is no year. So it depends from where this file was obtained from. Which leads me to point 2b below. 2b) d/copyright "Source" line leads to a empty repository It currently states: Source: https://git.kernel.org/pub/scm/linux/firmware/linux-firmware.git But that URL leads to a page which states "No repositories found". 2c) d/WHENCE mentions files and directories that do not exist in this package. Since this is not a standard file in debian packaging, I have no expectation towards it. If it makes your live easier as it is, that's ok. I just thought I should mention in. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/2147186 Title: linux-firmware package does not mention about all licensing in copyright file To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux-firmware/+bug/2147186/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list [email protected] https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
