@Jose: Removal was not even the main problem here. The incorrect
transition was.

What Ubuntu needs to do to fix this bug:
1. Take the last working version (470.256.02-0ubuntu0.24.04.1) before the 
transition error and re-upload it with a higher version number (like I did with 
my PPA).

2. Delete the 470.256.02-0ubuntu0.24.04.5 version of 470-server from the
-proposed repo, or find some other way to make sure it never sees the
light of day, breaks systems, and repeats this bug.

After that, you folks can have a nice discussion about general policies, 
whether the 470 drivers should be removed completely, etc. I hope and pray you 
can work out something less disruptive than what happened with  this bug by the 
next Nvidia legacy EoL (580.xx in October 2028).
TIP: Do not transition the 580 driver to something newer when the time comes.
