For step 2, a new crash file was generated successfully: /var/crash/_usr_bin_gnome-shell.60581.crash Error: Invalid problem report You are not allowed to access this problem report. The crashing GNOME Shell belonged to the ephemeral Remote Login GDM user, UID 60581, rather than my regular user account. Running ubuntu-bug as root collected additional information but could not complete the Launchpad submission under my Launchpad account. I have not attached the .crash file here. For step 3, I checked the system's page on errors.ubuntu.com using the ID from /var/lib/whoopsie/whoopsie- id. It currently says: No errors have been reported from this system. So there are no error-report links available to provide. Product-impact context: Windows mstsc to Ubuntu GNOME Remote Login is a documented, typical use case, not an unusual deployment. In this configuration the failure is reproducible across NVIDIA 595 and 610, and the default Remote Login path cannot be used without non-standard workarounds. The practical concern is not that every possible hardware combination must be guaranteed. It is that there is currently no public compatibility scope or representative hardware validation that would let a user determine whether this documented Remote Login feature can be relied on before purchasing or deploying a mainstream Ubuntu system.
